Russian Aircraft Corporation “MiG” and Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky (TsAGI), supported by International Festival “Ot Winta!” held the first scientific and technological tour for resource center “Sputnik” students.
Young guests visited “MiG” Corporation Flight test center named after A.V.Fedotov, (Zhukovsky town), where they were shown MiG aircraft specific features. The Corporation’s test pilots gave a lecture and tour at MiG’s flight center territory for “Sputnik” students.
The guests also visited the main Russian aviation science center and learnt the way the 80-years of cooperation between TsAGI and A.I.Mikoyan design bureau influenced on the development of world aviation and design of modern aircraft, saw aerodynamic tunnel T-101, the biggest in Europe, and became pilots in the flight simulator cockpit. In the end of the visit, young scientists and specialists gave a master class on aircraft modeling engineering at TsAGI innovative technological center Technopark.
TsAGI and “MiG” have always been united by one goal – the development of reliable combat aircraft, which will ensure our country’s defense potential and integrate the most advanced technologies. Together with the colleagues from “Ot Winta!” fund we held joint action for demonstration to future students of the aviation industry opportunities and close connection of science and serial production at all stages of aircraft life cycle. We are glad to achieve the objectives and are planning to run in the near future a number of patriotic projects, among young people with their involvement into industrial sector”, – said the tour organizer, “MiG” Corporation official representative Anastasia Kravchenko and TsAGI Deputy chief of administration Ekaterina Rostovtseva.
JSC “Russian Aircraft Corporation “MiG” (incorporated into PJSC “UAC”, SC “Rostec”) is a complete cycle enterprise, which performs development, production, post-sales support and upgrade of aircraft systems, pilots and technicians training. Product range of the Company includes the newest MiG-35 multirole fighter, family of MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 fighters, MiG-31BM fighter-interceptor and training systems. Today engineers of RAC “MiG” are deeply involved in design of new generation aviation systems both manned and unmanned.

Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E.Zhukovsky (affiliated into SRC Zhukovsky Institute) was founded on December 1, 1918. Today TsAGI is the biggest state scientific center of the Russian Federation aviation and aerospace industry, where the most complicated fundamental and application tasks in aero- and hydrodynamics, aeroacoustics, flight dynamics and aircraft structural strength as well as industrial aerodynamics are being successfully solved. The Institute has unique experimental facilities, meeting the highest international requirements. TsAGI conducts state evaluation of all flight vehicles, being developed in Russian design bureaus and issues a final conclusion on the first flight possibility and safety. TsAGI takes part in elaboration of aviation hardware development state programs as well as airworthiness standards and regulatory documents.
